Pregnancy dating date conception

Dating a pregnancy can cause confusion, because it can be done in either of two different ways.

Pregnancy can be dated from the first day of the last menstrual period or it can be dated from the day of ovulation.

In 2013, complications of pregnancy resulted in 293,000 deaths, down from 377,000 deaths in 1990.

No one understood that ovulation was required for conception or when ovulation occurred.

However, most women know when their last menstrual period was and it was known that the average pregnancy lasts 280 days (40 weeks) from the first day of the last menstrual period.

This free online conception calculator will determine the conception date -- including the day of the week -- based on the selected month, day, and year of your pregnancy due date.

With that I invite you to use the reverse due date calculator to estimate the date and day of the week your baby was conceived on (or any one else for that matter).

Instructions: Select the month, day, and year your baby is due, and then click the "Calculate Conception Date" button.

Author and physician Landrum Shettles says in his book, (Doubleday), that the father should not have an ejaculation for the three days before the "target date" (a day or two before ovulation) if you're trying for a boy.

If a girl is your goal, have intercourse regularly, but stop three days before ovulation.

The reasoning behind the Shettles method is that female and male sperm behave differently: female sperm are slower but live longer, while male sperm move faster and die younger.
